NOV/Petrovac deploys IRAMS Genset satellite remote start-stop technology on Bacton offshore platform for the first time to reduce operating costs.
iRAMS is a groundbreaking remote fixed and mobile portable power monitoring system that combines telematics, remote diagnostics and anomaly alerts combined with remote asset start/stop control all over satellite and GSM.
AST Networks and MSL in conjunction with NOV and Petrovac is deploying an NOV portable power Genset offshore with an IRAMS V2 installed on an unmanned platform.
Being offshore, the platform located off the Bacton gas terminal has very limited local telecommunications and is outside GSM range. The IRAMS solution meets the requirement as it offers self-contained and independent satellite connectivity without requiring local IP networks to tap into for sending telematics data.
The pilot is intended to demonstrate the new IRAMS V2 functionality with remote start/stop technology to reduce the requirement for expensive physical maintenance visits and advanced remote diagnostics alerts/reports to improve reliability.
This combined with the IRAMS anomaly and fuel level alerts with the benefits of the visual fuel levels overview displaying the physical location on a MAP will greatly help with logistics planning and reducing costs for vessel refuelling schedules.
