The Indonesian Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries have installed the new IRAMS remote telematics vessel management solution on their Patrol Vessel HIU12, operating on Customs and Fishery duties off Indonesia. The aim is to reduce vessel operational costs and fuel theft which is a common issue in the region.
IRAMS can monitor, report and alert the vessels location and most importantly on the vessels performance. This improves health and safety to the crew on board as it makes them aware of any issues with the vessel.
User configurable alerts are sent on a wide range of parameters including;
These telematics type solutions have been available to Shoreside Fleet Managers on HGV trucks, buses and alike for many years and the benefits of using IRAMS have been proven. With IRAMS being introduced to the maritime sector for the first time, Fleet Managers and vessel owners globally have been given the confidence to introduce IRAMS to their vessels ensuring the vessel and crew are operating safely.
Edi Siregar at Applied Satellite Technology Networks commented; ”The Ministry’s primary issue was fuel theft which IRAMS will assist them in remote monitoring, reporting and alerting on the fuel consumption and fuel burn rates in real time wherever the vessel is operating”.
