AST Networks, a global leader in providing innovative technology and hybrid network solutions, is thrilled to announce our upcoming workshop, tailored to foster talent in the field of web development. The eagerly anticipated two-hour workshop, hosted by our esteemed technical lead, Jake Saterlay, with the assistance of Junior Software Developers Kyle Hughes and Ylfa Jensdottir, promises to offer an enlightening introduction to the dynamic world of web development.
Scheduled for Friday 31st May 2024, from 2pm-4pm at The Forum in Norwich, UK, this workshop is designed to delve into the core principles of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Participants will have the opportunity to gain practical hands-on experience, laying the foundation to their journey in creating interactive web pages. Aimed towards individuals at the outset of their programming career, the session warmly welcomes anyone with a passion for understanding the complexities of web development.
Jake brings more than six years of experience as a Software Developer and has recently taken on the role of Technical Lead here at AST Networks. Recognised for his community-centric approach, Jake actively engages with the Norfolk Developer Community, and is dedicated to empowering fellow software developers, whether aspiring or experienced, to realise their full potential in the tech industry.

Attendees are asked to bring a fully charged laptop and charger to participate in the workshop, as equipment will not be provided. Attendees will be using their device for the whole session, and it is advised that Visual Studio Code is installed prior to the event, a link to the software can be found here.
In the spirit of inclusivity, we are offering a Pay What You Can pricing structure, allowing participants to contribute from between £5 and £10 to attend the workshop.
Before the workshop takes place, Jake will be participating in a panel discussion between 12pm-1pm, providing guidance on how to pursue a career in tech and advice on how to navigate employment in the sector, exploring the current landscape of the industry and future possibilities.
